In alliance with AppraisalWorld™ (www.appraisalworld.com),
an online community for Valuation Professionals, Appraisal Matrix,
LLC has created a method of securing the authenticity and integrity
of appraisal reports, and the ability to verify that information
has not been manipulated from the original file. The core technology
is based on Data Matrix technology, which is widely used for authentication
purposes.
Appraisal Sentry is an online system, which uses a
2-D barcode and a strong 512-bit complete digest of the PDF appraisal
report for protection. All of the data on the report will be protected
on a server with the digest hash code, which uniquely identifies
each file. It's the industry standard for comparing files.
Bar coding technology appeared more than 30 years
ago. Now linear bar codes can be found everywhere. However, conventional
barcodes have some inherent limitations—most importantly the
amount of data encoded. Two-dimensional (2-D) codes like Data Matrix
overcome this key limitation by encoding information digitally.
This high data capacity is ideal for document security and data
encryption.
Data Matrix codes can generally store up to 2335 alphanumeric
characters, text, numbers, bytes of data, digital signatures, and
photos. (2-D) codes are typically not replacing conventional barcodes
in their applications, but instead extend barcode applicability
to areas where they have not been applied in the past.
U.S. Government Agencies, Which Have Adopted
Data Matrix As a Standard Include:
